These pictures aren't very good, (you can click on them for a better view) wouldn't you know the sun went in just when I got the camera out. Our Sony digi doesn't do as good a job as it used to and we are seriouly looking at Olympus cameras'. The one or is that two photos are of my 'new' sewing area which I love. The light in our newly converted..garage( turned fun...whoops =) change that to sunroom please) is fantastic if the sun is shining that is. And the little dress is just the cutest thing that calls itself 'teatowel'. Made in china and bought at Ollies's for a song.... I hadn't realized that 3 days had gone by without posting...sorry! Yesterday I spent pretty much the whole afternoon practising and plan to do the same today. Tonight we are going up to Barnes & Noble Booksellers ( I think thats is just the neatest name) and get our Essentially Yo Yo Ma CDs. Oh am I looking forward to hearing it, thank you Dawn for telling me about it!!
Oh yes, before I forget, I have a treat to recommend and something I absolutely love. When you go to your grocery store look for Hershey's 'Swoops' and the Hershey's 'sticks'. They come in deep chocolate and mint chocolate, and candy bar flavors too. The swoops are in small tubs and have 3 'potato chip replicas' of luscious chocolate that are not potatos of course, just trying to describe them. I have never been able to indulge in chocolate...food allergies etc. But for whatever reason....these have been sitting happily with my stomach. This.....all beginning with my fabulous cello teacher bringing me some 'Sensations' intense chocolate back from Europe. The Hershey chocolates are under $2.00 too.
A word about Tatting. I enjoyed your comments, thank you =). To answer, what is tatting? Tatting is making lace using knotted loops and threads. "Tatting is made using a double knot or sometimes called a double stitch. You make the knots over another thread. Picots, the little loops that look so delicate, are made by leaving a little space between the double stitchs and when the stitchs are moved along the ring to close the ring or the chain...the spaces close ...leaving the picot 'loops'. There are some really wonderful tatting tutorials out there in blogland. I have to admit, shuttle tatting can be hard to catch on to, because the knot must be 'flipped' into postion just right before the work will slide. Its worth the effort to learn though and is so enjoyable. I hope by showing my work from time to time, someone will take it up shuttle tatting too! Tatting is a wonderful needlework skill. I would think children would love to learn to tat, flipping those knots looks like magic and is as fun as making a 'cat in the cradle' string thing....grin.

"Them hath he filled with wisdom of heart, to work all manner of work, of the engraver, and of the cunning workman, and of the embroiderer, in blue, and in purple, in scarlet, and in fine linen, and of the weaver, even of themthat do any work, and of those that devise cunning work." Exodus 35:35 Interesting, that here the Lord was giving instructions through his servant Moses about the making of the tabernacle and all that pertained to it.

I love this verse...from the book of James 1:17...."Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning." How unspeakably wonderful that our Creator cares so much about us, that he not only has given us gifts of all skills, including needlework ect. BUT~~"In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:..." Colossians 1:14.

If you ever have wondered why this is so important to me??? As the songwriter said, " I once was blind, but now I see"....AMAZING grace, how sweet the sound. Once I was blind and satisfied with my self...but in my heart I was sad...on my way to hell and thinking I would be allowed into heaven because I had never robbed a bank etc. How cunning satan is, that we should hold ourselves up to Almighty God who alone is good and holy, and say 'I am good'. I am not good, but praise God, I have repented and gone to God for his salvation ...so rich and free. "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved." Not will be, but shalt...here, now!
