These are the roses I brought home from the grocery store's floral department. You see them just as they are...79 cents worth of beauty every time I open the fridge door and have a look thier way. I've had them home a week at least and look at them still beautifying my world! What you don't see here is that there are no stems of any kind....the florist pulled these roses right off the stem, if I picked one up and let go all the petals would float down. Isn't this kind of like we want to be? Living a long time but with no thorns or thirsty parts, leaning on the everlasting arms....and being preserved unto everlasting life. And the best part, Jesus is tenderly calling to any who will hear him. "Come unto me all ye that are heavy laden and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28 It is our sin that is a heavy load to bear. Jesus alone can lift that guilt and load from us, and what a divine mystery to me that He was willing to go to Calvary and die there for each of us, that we might be redeemed, bought back from Satan's hold over us. I'm so glad!
