This is whats on my coffe table right now. A little collection of blue glass that I love to admire. As I look at this picture I am surprised at the store bought doily. I have made many doilies over the years and enjoyed them, but they are packed away. Some are very large, and a few are ruffled. I loved the challenge of doing them. Our first child was about 3 years old when I began crocheting doilies. I would get up early in the morning and crochet up a storm. Then that gave way to more sewing and the twins were born and that kept me busy. I can still remember when my Aunt taught me to crochet 'granny squares'. I made a small afghan to cover the back of the recliner. I felt as if I'd hung the moon....smile. The background color was black and the centers were scraps of various colors. I sewed alot of my own clothes back then too. Set in sleeves with cuffs...even my wedding dress. Oh my, I would never attempt something like that now, as simple as my pattern was. As I was reading my Bible this morning...I finished the book of Exodus. I came across the verse in chapter 38:23. Can you imagine this? A man who was a cunning worker..."and an embroiderer in blue, and in purple, and in scarlet, and fine linen." How wonderful! If you've read the Jamie Langston Turner books...there is one that has a lady named Birdie in it. She's a sweetheart if there ever was one. Anyway, her husband cross-stitiched and they would sometimes sit together in the evenings and stitch together. The author also tells of them reading the same book aloud. I suppose she knows of some couple like this. I just think that would be so fantastic...what about you? Would you like your husband to cross-stitch and read your books? I would....smile. Yes, just get right down to the place where I live, and think and smile and share it all with me. What could be better than having your husband be your soul mate and your love? My husband shares the books, after a manner of speaking....I read them, and tell him all about it, if its that good and if he'll sit still long enough. Another thing I enjoyed reading this morning was that when they built the 'laver' for the priests to wash up in before they served the Lord in the tabernacle..the laver was made...."of the looking glasses of the women assembling, which assembled at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation". Exodus 38:8 Thier mirrors! Isn't that just like today...We often think people that lived way back then were different from us and didn't have what we have or understand as we do. They were so much the same as us its amazing, thats what I think. As I got to the end of the book of Exodus, my thoughts were how exciting to be able to read what God told Moses on the mount, and just what was happening with the people. My favorite parts were when God showed his presence with the cloud by day and the fire by night...and, how He put Moses in the clift of the rock and passed by him...and how Moses face shined so that he had to wear a veil when he came down fromt the mount, because he had been with God, and was reflecting God's glory! Wow! Leaving you with a wonderful verse that everyone knows but how often do we stop and think of what it really means and what it cost God to be able to put that in the Bible. All praise and worship to Him! Posted by Picasa John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." verse 17, for God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned; but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."

Pretty blues.

I've tried crochet, or knitting, only briefly but they never clicked with me but sewing has always been extremely enjoyable.

He that believeth on him is not condemned; but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."

Interesting you should speak on Moses. In the past few weeks He has been brought to me in reading and discussion, especially the understanding of unbelief was what kept many from entering into God's rest.

Hebrews 3
16 For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses.
17 But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness?
18 And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not?
19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

And yet unbelief has been also translated as disobedience in various verses.

I've missed you.

Hello Miss Maggie, *VBS* I'm dropping in to say hello, and tell you I appreciate all your kind words over at my place. Haven't wandered too far from "home" lately, but did want to greet you and give you a hug..*S*

So happy that you enjoyed what I wrote. I enjoy reading what you are thinking about..and the reference to Birdie, my grandmother's sisters name..*VBS* She never married, and died quite young.
The blue cobalt glass is just lovely, how blessed we are to see such color. Have a lovely evening, Hugs, Finn
