This is the most delightful rocker. I'd guess it used to be just a chair and someone put the rockers on it. When it rocks it tips you way back...not for the timid. My husband and I refinished it and I remember sanding and sanding on the thing. Well worth it in the end. Thanks Flossy for the know-how about posting more than one picture. I've just tried it and it does work but the pictures appeared staggered and I don't know how to correct that. Any ideas for me along that line? Now I need a poem about a rocking chair and don't know any. Let's see, how about this saying. "She was as nervous as a long tailed cat in a room full of rockers". Rockers are comfort chairs...and timeless. Time for the day to end...supper was a Beef Stir Fry and salad with cinnamon rolls for after. I also got a large pot of vegetable soup made for tomorrow. That is so good with Romano/Parmesan cheese sprinkled on top of it and chunks of Italian bread to dunk in the dipping oil. Let Saturday come ahead, I think I'm ready for it...smile.

Jesus, Rose of Sharon, bloom within my heart; Beauties of Thy truth and holiness impart,
That where'er I go my life may shed abroad...Fragrance of the knowledge of the love of God.

Hello Miss Maggie, I'm wandering in just ahead of the rain..*VBS* I hope you've found quiet rest after a busy day. The rocker is, indeed, lovely. And I agree, amended. Looks like it might have been a court house chair, or in a waiting room of a court house or city hall. Has a very classic look. You two did a lovely job of refinishing it.
There is such satisfaction in working with our hands, whether a needle or a brush or sand paper. Hugs, Finn

I love rocking chairs, it's one of those things that is on my list of things I must have :)

Now Maggie, when you open your picture thingy (very technical term!) underneath where you add your pics from the computer are 4 options - left, centre, right etc. Make sure you click centre, then all your pics should be straight :)

Hope you understood that!

Hugs xx

After you click if you want you photo left right or center you can also click on the photo and drag to the order you want the photos to be. I move mine to after my post alot of time or in the middle of a post. Love the rocker and would not be timed at all to rock in it!

What a wonderful chair. I love the color.

My father inlaw gave my husband a rocker that he handmade. Talk about sturdy. I made cushions to go with it but I had to sew them in place. I think he was pleased to know that I had done that little extra because it spoke respect and appreciation.

Would you pass along the recipe for that Italian bread and dipping oil please? Sounds yummy.
