This bed is one we've had for many years. I've never seen another like it, though I know there must be hundreds of them surely. My husband got this at an auction in 1970. I just called him and asked him what he ended up paying for it. I can remember it I wanted this bed sooo badly. He said that he almost got it for $3.00 and then someone started bidding against him and he ended up paying all of $9.00 for it. Can you imagine! He brought it home and it was soon, perhaps the next evening, he began stripping and refinishing it and we've loved it all these years. We just recently replaced it with a queen size bed and this is now in our guest room. I tried to put more than one picture of it on this post but it didn't work. Does Blogger 'do' more than one picture in a post? Could anyone tell me how that is done?

"For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people; he will beautify the meek with salvation." Psalms 149:4

Wow, this is in your guest room now...What fun to be a guest in your house. I always love looking at the pretty things that are in your home. I love all the things that you show. You have the same tastes that I have!! I wish that I knew how to put two pictures into one blog also. Let me know when you find out....

When I post a pic, just above the browse button, is a button for adding another picture, if you click that it gives you another browse button, I can add 5 at a time :)

I love that bed, it's beautiful and the detail is gorgeous! What a great bargain it was :)

Dear Maggie.
What a beautiful headboard!
Thank you for your lovely post on my blog. I have overwhelming moments of sadness and just cry and cry,and then feeling better at the knowledge that Mom is with Jesus and happy and without pain.

Generally I've never been able to get more than 2 pics on a post at the most. Then I figured that if I choose the "small" instead of medium or large size for the pics I can get more...well to be honest I've never posted more than 3 but that's 2 more than 1 eh? lol

i absolutely love the way you guys decorate and the things you've found and made ... what wonderful heirlooms they've become to pass on to the children!

and you can use www.tinypic.com for lots of picture posting ... though shelley's suggestion is a good one and you don't have to fiddle with the sizes yourself!

blessings on your week!
