I thought for a minute there that Blogger wasn't going to give me a picture tonight, but here we are...this is our hall night light. The last thing I do at night usually is turn this on and in the morning first thing...turn it off. We didn't make this stained glass lamp. It was a wonderful bargain at just $15.00 many years ago. One of the small panes of red has a crack in it but I just turn that to the wall. We enjoy the reflections it makes on the wall. On rainy days I leave it on all day to help make a cozy atmosphere.....smile. This day has gone by so quickly! A lot of cello practising today. I have 2 pieces I am working on and absolutely love. They are not long but so lovely. One is Solveig's Song from 'Peer Gynt' by Edvard Grieg and the other is Adagio and Allegro from the Sonata in E minor, Op. 1, no.2. ......I enjoyed reading your comments about your comfort foods. Hmmm....comfort and cozy. Those two words go together so nicely. Like they were made for each other...smile.~~Today I made stuffed cabbage rolls in the crockpot. About making pumpkin pie....well, sort of, I just mixed up the recipe on the Libby's label and added a cup of bisquick and it worked well. If anyone wants the recipe let me know. The other great and easy recipe was just emptying a can of cherry pie filling in the greased crock pot. Then take half a yellow cake mix (dry) and add 1/4 cup melted margarine and mix into crumbles. Sprinkle this on top of the pie filling and break some walnut pieces on top of that. Cook on low heat (lid on) in your crockpot for about 3 hours. Yummy! and goes good with vanilla ice cream or frozen yogurt. This is definitely in the comfort food category and its so easy to do its like a present to yourself and your family! Better get to bed, somehow its gotten very late again.

'There's within my heart a melody...Jesus whispers sweet and low,
Fear not, I am with thee, peace be still...In all of life's ebb and flow.

Jesus, Jesus, Jesus.....Sweetest name I know!
Fills my every longing, Keeps me singing as I go.

Luther Bridges.

Hello dear Maggie, it's good to see you back and just as cheerful and serene as ever! And passing on your serenity to your friends... As ever. Your place sounds and looks like such a haven. Grieg is a wonderful composer and I can well understand how you could get wrapped up in creating some beautiful music!

I hope you had a restful night and are about to start another happy day, filled with blessings. :)

Hi Maggie, what a comfy, cosy scene you set. Complimented by Grieg's Peer Gynt, how wonderful! My very favourite from Peer Gynt is 'Morning'. As I listen to this piece of music, I imagine being in a bluebell wood, a dawn chorus of birdsong, greeting a new day.
I visited Grieg's home in Norway a few years ago. A wonderful experience to think of the great composer actually living there. His remains are entombed in a rock closeby, if I remember correctly, he had chosen this spot, for it caught either the morning sun or the setting sun. I'd rather like to think it was the morning sun, and it evoked memories of his beautiful music.
Thank you for your birthday wishes.
Hugs - Marion
