Thought I'd post this quick picture of our living room. Its the end of a very cold winter day today. Actually its almost midnight and the snow is softly falling outdoors but inside the woodburner is putting out its welcome heat. Today was spent with a friend shopping. In spite of the cold we had many a laugh as we talked in the car going to town and back. A friend is a treasure indeed. I'm thankful for each of you...my blogging friends who add a special warmth to my life. The shopping trip gave me the opportunity to buy my second Crock Pot cook book. Every day I have made something in my new Crock Pot. While out shopping, back at home, pumpkin pie was slowly baking in it. I am intrieged by the variety of recipes I can make in it. Desserts are especially appealing to me, mainly because I have such a sweet tooth. Pumpkin pie falls into the category of 'comfort food' with me. How about you? What are your favorite comfort foods ? Well, I'd better close this post for tonight. The evening passed very quickly here as I watched I Love Lucy...a Christmas gift from our son.

Maggie Ann, your living room looks so comforting and cosy :) Glad you had a lovely day today.

My favourite comfort food is homemade bacon and vege soup with lots of hot buttered toast!

just yesterday i purchased a crockpot cookbook too! we are experiencing a pretty rainy storm (complete with thunder and winds 30mph or so) so staying home with a nice hot stew is so very appealing right now! =)

as for comfort foods - spaghetti! oxtail stew! =)

I have many comfort foods..and pumpkin pie is one of them...! You mention I Love Lucy...She was born and raised 15 miles from here..and that is a huge draw for the area as far as tourism..Recently, they reconstructed the set for the show in one of the local buildings. Lotsa Lucy around here..!

Hi there dear Maggie Ann ~ I'm so glad you have your computer back.
Your house is really cosy and beautiful, thanks for sharing.
BTW ~ I do have a crockpot but hardly use it...I've noticed that a lot of the ladies in the USA do. I'd love to use it more.
A favourite comfort food for me would be a hot roast dinner and gravy, with all the vegetable side dishes like cauliflower cheese and roast potatoes...hmmm, now you've made me hungry! hehehe
