Showing you bits of the house...as some others are doing on their blogs. I drew inspiration from them...its a nice idea, sort of like having you come by for tea of course. Today's flavor is Licorice Spice herbal tea made by 'Stash'. No sugar needed and the licorice flavor is really nice. This is my bedside lamp and the hankie is one I crocheted with great pleasure several years ago. I found the pattern in a needlework magazine that was using a technique something like stump work where you crochet over a cord to give a raised effect. It is a privilege to learn something new like this and a gift to have the time to do it. Leaving you with a verse..of course. "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning." James 1:17. I have always loved this verse for it reinforces what I have learned. My feelings, which are full of ups and downs, are not trustworthy but God is. I LOVE the part of this word of God that says...'neither shadow of turning'. We are not perfect, nor always stable..but God is perfect and there 'is no shadow of turning with him'. That comforts my heart. Still a sinner, but a sinner saved by his wonderful grace. Posted by Picasa

the hankie is one I crocheted

Just beautiful! That's a very detailed work.

"...neither shadow of turning'.

How can the True Light have an eclipse even if He turns in purpose or desired method? It's not possible because there is no darkness in Him or can there be darkness cast on Him. His ways are perfect.

Also brings to mind these verses.

John 1
4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

The darkness of man is so distant and foreign from God's Light of righteousness, man cannot even begin to know God or His ways without the Holy Spirit teaching us.

Revelation 21:23
And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.

Revelation 22:5
And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.

Good stuff!!

I need a bible study in real life so I can discuss and ponder (a form of woship) God's Word.

What a neat idea - draping a crocheted piece over the lampshade! (off to find one suitable to go over ours...it has a huge water stain on it that is most embarrassing, so it will look much more presentable covered by something from my collection!)

I crochet, but mostly with yarn. This makes me want to learn how to do this intricate work. It is so beautiful.
