Here is our dining room...a little messy but I thought you might like to see it. Last night we had a beautiful snowfall. Even this morning the world was white here. When it snows like that...I am filled with awe and peace. I gravitate toward the book cases feeling as though I have had a tranquilizer...within my home today think of me as filled with contentment...sort of like mentally purring. Yes, its true..smile. As I looked through the bookshelves, I found about ten new books that I had forgotten about. Each one looked so inviting, but since I am already reading a wonderful book 'All the Way Home' by Ann Tatlock...I came away with a Bible commentary and a devotional for women..' Joy for the Journey'. Last evening while shopping at Aldi's, I bought myself software called..'Scrapbook Designer'. So...I'm really in here to try it out but couldn't resist posting, which is excellent for the spirit, mine anyway = ). In the little devotional there was an excellent thought by Luci Swindoll, each page has a different author's contribution. Anyway, her thought is that when we are celebrating God, there is not any time or room for negative thoughts or living. I like that...and its true isn't it? I took 2 other things back to the living room with me from the bookshelves. One was a Christmas note from a cherished friend who is now with the Lord Jesus. She says in the note....holiday greetings on this sunshiny, chilly day. Just took a walk out over my 'estate' past the holly trees, so beautiful in their green coats and red buttons'. She never failed to see the beauty of God's creations all around her. For years she was known for her flower note cards. What a special person Alice was, she was a role model for me time and again and a wonderful Christian. What I didn't know about her for years was that she was a published author...some of her poetry was published in Ideals magazine and other publications. She never told! .....Hope you are having as nice a day as I am. Leaving you with a verse of a hymn that rings true....'Redeemed and so happy in Jesus, No language my rapture can tell; I know that the light of his presence ...With me doth continually dwell. Redeemed....redeemed...redeemed by the blood of the lamb....I love the old hymns. When I sing them its as if a light has been turned on in my heart. A glad light of hope and security and joy !

i was singing along with you ... i love the old hymns too ...

today, while i was packing away some of the kitchen items, i finally had a song in my heart ... i have been so low emotionally - especially seeing leo get ill over this moving business - that i fretted instead of resting/trusting ... but then i took some of the medicine i dish out to others - about attitude, and quoting scripture and praying instead of worrying ... know what? it works!

Amazing to think while you are having snow and looking out on a white world, here Down Under we have been experiencing extreme heat, terrible bushfires, and a mini-tornado in one of Melbourne's suburbs last night.
Lovely to see you back, love your dining area, and thank you for all your comments on my blogs!

She left a wonderful friendship legacy. How sweet to be remember so fondly.

Brings to mind this scripture...

James 1:17
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
