It looks like winter and certainly feels like winter. There is panaramic beauty everywhere you look. Sometimes the cold is bone-chilling and at other times invigorating. This is one person's view of winter...O Winter! ruler of the inverted year, . . . I crown thee king of intimate delights, Fireside enjoyments, home-born happiness, And all the comforts that the lowly roof Of undisturb'd Retirement, and the hours Of long uninterrupted evening, know.
William Cowper (1731 - 1800
Here is another viewpoint..*smile*....Every winter, When the great sun has turned his face away, The earth goes down into a vale of grief, And fasts, and weeps, and shrouds herself in sables, Leaving her wedding-garlands to decay-- Then leaps in spring to his returning kisses.
Charles Kingsley (1819 - 1875), Saint's Tragedy (act III, sc. 1)

Our God said in the book of Job chapter 38,verse 28.." Hath the rain a father? or who hath begotten the drops of dew? Out of whose womb came the ice? and the hoary frost of heaven, who hath gendered it? ...Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion?" In other words, only God can do these marvelous acts of creation and hold them to thier appointed places. All glory to God! Let us be thankful to him in the midst of winter as well as summer.

i love the view from your window ... and in a way it is lovely that the snow has come - it'll be that much more festive when your daughter and family are there ...

you were brave to venture out with the threat of a storm the other night ... since i usually go by myself - well, i just don't if it's storming!

you have a happy voice in your posts ... may the Lord bless this family time in your home!

That's pretty much how I feel when it's winter here. Although we don't get snow here I do agree that being inside in front of the fire is so cosy and snug.

Brrr...we got a dusting of snow yesterday. Probably no more than an inch, if that. It's been cold though and that is just as bad. Oh well, it's winter so I guess it's to be expected. Only 4 or so months left and it will be spring again LOL.

Well said! Winter is a type of death but then life springs forth. Speaks to me of the death of Christ but then life springs forth in Him through the same Spirit that dwells within us.

Romans 8:11
But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

I've been thinking to God lately of how all things are held together through Him. All atoms in their proper place are because He deems them to be. The sun holds its place in the sky/universe because of Him. Our God is a consumming Holy fire and even the fire of the sun couldn't harm Him. His creation is marvelously made. When we think of Him in this prespective we yet again stand in awe.
