Thanksgiving is just around the corner...think of it, the golden brown bird...so heavy he is hard to lift out of the pan. The candied sweet potatoes, the simmering and popping of the crimson cranberries into sauce. Let me think...oh yes, the pumpkin pies. The fragrance of those pies baking will be like incense. Most precious of all will be the sight of our family gathered together to lift up to God the thanks of our hearts for our precious Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. This year I am going to ask my husband to once again read Psalm 100 aloud from the Bible at the table before praying over the meal. Perhaps we shall sing a chorus also....(there is no such thing as 'Christian rock' for us.. I am not ashamed to say that we firmly believe rock music is of the devil)...remember when we got saved...the verse that says, "old things are passed away, behold all things become new"? well, the rock music scenerio is in the lump of the 'old' for us. .....I know things are going to get very busy for most of us, cleaning and baking and preparing for the big day. I'm looking forward to seeing the Rose Bowl parade. This year I am determined to have everything done the day before so I CAN sit down and watch the parade in peace. *smile* Wishing you and yours a wonderful Thanksgiving and the will power to eat more fruit than pie....(so we have fewer regrets later on )  Posted by Picasa

Youngest son is coming to drive me there.

I hope your thanksgiving is seriously blessed indeed. We used to watch the parades each year too.

I would think Christian rock might fall under the 'make a joyful NOISE' category. *chuckle*

To each his own and respectfully so.
