Enjoying the view from home. After our 3 inch snowfall the last week, and in spite of the beauty, many were without electrical power. There were many tree limbs that broke due to the weight of the snow. We had a large tree limb break here too. We thought maybe we would miss out on the 'glory' of the fall foliage, but here it is. Our greens are turning to magnificent shades of yellows and oranges and russets. The scenery makes your breath catch...in wondor. Life is like the scenery....beautiful but passing quickly. I'm savoring these special moments as a forerunner of things to come, in the 'sweet by and by'. Posted by Picasa

After a very cold week we are now back to 70 degree weather. Guess mother nature is teasing me with winter. Love the picture!

How beautiful. That Autumn golden light is so precious. Thank you for sharing yet another gorgeous picture telling of the beauty of this world.

Dear Maggie, I understand that you chose the cello bow instead of the sewing-embroidery machine! My brother is a wonderful cello player, and a few years ago he made the decision to buy a great bow, like you did. It made such a difference to his sound.
What matters, dear friend, is that you create beauty - no matter in what form. It is such a blessing to bring beauty to the world.

I played the violin for 10 years as a child. I have always loved music (classical music), but my parents chose the instrument for me and I would have preferred the - cello. ut then a choir teacher discovered I had a good voice and gave me free singing lessons to teach me lyrical singing. He has made me realize that singing was truly the instrument in which I had been blessed. Singing is such a happiness to me - and singing psalms, singing church songs is pure bliss.

Do you believe that one can pray through music? I believe there is a time for prayer through the reading of the Bible; a time for contemplative, silent prayer; and a time for musical prayer.
Don't you love the idea that the beautiful sounds you create with your cello go straight up to God and speak of his glory?

Ah yes, music is a blessing indeed.

Sorry for being so lyrical dear friend! I hope you understand. I hope I haven't been to lengthy. I enjoy interacting with you through our blogs. So glad you liked those pictures of the place of my roots, the Straights of Dover.

Looking forward to reading your next post - as always.
Wishing you a lovely afternoon and evening!

What a beautiful picture that is. A lot of the trees up here still have lots of leaves on them. Mind you plenty have little to none though. We had a weird fall, lots of warmer weather and rain so the leaves didn't turn colours for some time. In fact, one tree in our front yard is still pretty green! Probably won't be a whole lot longer though and the leaves will be gone and the snow will be here...

You are an excellent photographer, Maggie - that is a stunning picture. I love autumn with all its beautiful colours. Reading your comments about the problems with heavy snowfalls makes me wonder what is the lesser of two evils - snowfalls that cause the damage you speak of, or bushfires that will inevitably accompany a hotter than usual summer forecast for parts of Australia this season...
