This gorgeous collage arrived in the mail today from Ainslie. I just love it, it looks like you could just step right into the ballroom. It is delightfully Victorian, wishing you could see the 3d effect of the bee and bird and flowers. Thankyou Ainslie!! You did a marvelous job of it and I am enjoying the sachet too. She has a note on the back which says that the background is the 'Vice Regal Ball, Melbourne Exhibition Building, June 1st, 1864. Receiving and making these collages has been such fun! Each one is so special in its own way. I'm thinking ms*robyn....this was a great idea! Thankyou so much Ainslie!! Love it! Posted by Picasa

How pretty!

When adding nutmeg to a coffee, I make it the milky way, i.e. heating milk up, adding nutmeg then adding a 'shot' of real coffee... it makes it perfect for those winter days. I myself am a tea drinker through and through, although sometimes I just fancy a coffee :-)

Your site is beautiful and this collage is gorgeous too! I noticed you were also an "ANNE" with an "E" fan. We've read them all. I find it surprising that LM Montgomery lived such a strangely wretched life and out of it came all this tenderness and humor. What an imagination! Your tea party looked fun too.

It is indeed gorgeous. I couldn't see your collage photos the other day but I can see them all today, and they are all so pretty! I can't imagine what they must be in real life!

Good Morning Miss Maggie, the collage is just spectacular. I'm fond of much of Victorian time, but still more of a pioneer girl at heart. It seems my aging is bringing out a love for more delicate things..*S*

P.S. The "bubblegirl" over at my blog is actually what chicken mash, cow feed, etc. used to come in. It's fairly coarsely woven, and often in less than popular colors, but I love it. Often farm wives accompanied their husbands to the feedmill to get "just" the sacks they fancied. Many were used for clothing during the dust storm years, and the Depression. And of course, the scraps made their way into quilts..*S* The bubble girl is one of the best I've seen, graphically.

Thanks for all the lovely comments! These collages are wonderful.
Vintage Pretty..thankyou for your recipe for nutmeg 'coffe'. I will make it with 'Silk" and will try this soon. It really sounds yummy and I never can have hot chocolate...I'm lactose intolerant so I appreciate the things that I can have.
Dear Finn, I can't imagine living through the Depression and sewing feed sacks to wear. My Mom remembered it as not being to bad because they lived on a small farm and always had plenty to eat. The thing that bothered her alot was having to wear 'old lady' shoes to high school. It was humiliating to her. Your 'bubblegirl' is very cheery looking.
