Saturday's child has been busy. I sorted out all the accumulation of papers that have been saved around the computer. Recipes, tatting patterns, a knitted top pattern, pc how-to's, hints, addys, well, you get the idea. Its very peaceful now to come to this area of the house, since its been de-cluttered. I just made this 'bed buddy' from a lace table runner. Its a simple idea that is easy to do. Just fold one end up and stitch lines down the front to form pockets. I doubled the lace where I folded it to make the pocket and re-enforced the seams at the top where they take the weight of the book. I'm very pleased with this project. It holds, of course, a very good read, a lavender sachet that smells yummy...and my kleenex. Total cost $2.00. How's that for making something pretty for, well.....cheap! This would be nice in a tapestry table runner too. Did I mention that 2/3 of the runner you tuck between the mattress and box springs? Also, if you have an extra embroidered dresser scarf to use.....you can make a vintage pretty! Happy Saturday to you........and this thought to ponder......."True silence is the rest of the mind, and is to the spirit what sleep is to the body, nourishment and refreshment." William Penn...And it comes to my mind, a better quote than that one...."Be still and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth." Thanks for joining Fridays Favorites.
I love hats but they don't look right on me, so I enjoy them on other people or as decorations in my house. The pocket is a good idea!

Hey, that is so beautiful! What a great idea as well, especially if your dresser/night stand has no room for things to sit.

I was just thinking, that if you had a heavier book to store, maybe using a quilted table runner would be good for that...a little more sturdy.

You've got some really great ideas! Now, if only I had the time to actually do anything...lol

I've got knitting I need to get at and is on hold because university has started back up and I've no time for that...though I'll have to be making some time to get them done.

Thanks again for the great ideas and great read!

Oh Maggie! That bed caddy is gorgeous!
You have exquisite taste and great ideas.

Pity we don't have that kind of beds in France... I would make a bed caddy right away!

Have a blessed Sunday!

What a lovely idea for those 'extra' pieces of linen and lace that we collectors have in our cupboards and drawers!
