Holly Hobbie, an old friend of mine. My Mum made this doorstop for me after I had admired it in one of her craft books. There was nothing too hard for my Mother to try. One year while she was in the hospital she was trying to de-code the pattern for those ornate crocheted bed-dolls (pattern from Annie's Attic). She broke the code....after much frustration and made several beddolls. Back to Holly Hobbie, I have a lovely tea/coffe pot of this design and a wash pitcher also....Well, this time my tea is rosehips/hibiscus and very tasty. The tea is loose and I put a scant 1/2 teaspoon in the teaball and it makes this wonderful color and fragrant tea. Good thing I bought so much, I'm hoping it will last me till next year when the Craft Days are here again. I've already drained my cup...I'm wishing I'd made a teapot full now. Its threatening to rain any moment here, very overcast and a very cozy day to be inside doing nothing at the moment but relaxing (begging your pardon) =).....There is a stillness in the weather here and in the house that is very quieting and pleasant. Oh Maggie Ann, your doorstop is just gorgeous! We have several doorstops around here - one carved in stone, of a kitten and puppy curled up asleep together, and a wooden carved one of a cheeky looking cat. I have a cross stitch pattern for a doorstop, using a brick as the weight; it features Australian parrots and is very pretty. But I would like one of those Holly Hobbie ones much more!
