Here's my vintage iron...I wondor what year this was used, but cannot, positively cannot take the time today to try to find info on it, though it would be interesting. It is a Hotpoint/Calrod iron made in the U.S.A. weighing in at 6 lbs. This iron should be able to flatten the worst of wrinkles in 'nothing flat'. The previous post gives alittle more info about it. I'll be doing my ironing today with my GE iron which weighs in at a hair over 2 lbs.! Guess which one is my iron of choice?......Hope your day is just what you need it to be. Leaving you with a bit of a hymn; "Loved with everlasting love, Led by grace that love to know; Spirit, breathing from above, Thou hast taught me it is so! Oh, this full and perfect peace! Oh, this transport all divine!..In a love that cannot cease, I am His, and He is mine."..."Behold, I stand at the door, and knock; if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me." Revelation 4:20 ..God is waiting for us....how precious is that! Posted by Picasa

my vintage iron is exactly the same as yours except for the brown knob dealie at the top part of the handle ... otherwise exactly ... of course mine is made in Renfrew, Ontario and it's called a "Canadian Beauty"... :o) ... leo's mom used it ... now it sits as a dust collector on the hearth of our woodstove! aww, the things that make us smile! using these babies would definitely be a form of muscle building *laughing* ... blessings on your day!

That must be the original meaning of the term, "pumping iron"! No need to go to a gym and work out. Burn those calories ironing some shirts instead! ;<)
