Yes, I'm still working away on my crinoline lady apron. She's lovely but I'm having a devil of a time with the floss. It knots on me like crazy. Its on the downhill side now and I'll be glad to start something new. I've been online too long here this morning, but I've so much to see and so many to visit *smiling again*. I've enjoyed seeing Patra's Antique Roadshow entries, oh the stitching!! love it. Off to cello practise I go, well, after lunch that is. There's hardly any flowers blooming here, thanks to hardly any rain but the ones that are blooming are much appreciated and make wonderful miniature bouquets. Ever since I've been a young girl, the country life has drawn me like a magnet. Its so beautiful and serene. We are surrounded by farmland and pastoral scenes, year round beauty which changes like a fade-in, fade-out scene. I love to hear distant roosters crow and crickets chirping. We are sliding rapidly into fall here. In a way, I would like to just sit outside and soak up the summerlife to distill into the cold bleak days that are coming. But, then again, with blogging ..who has time to notice the winter, right? Just think, I could have had an hour and a half of knitting or embroidering or sewing done just now, but I think of the Bible verse....'to have a friend you must be a friend'. So I'm here to say hello and wish you a pleasant week.= ) Posted by Picasa

How beautiful Maggie Ann. What marvellous stitching!

I completely empathize with your love of nature. Although I live in Paris because my work is there, I'm a countrygirl at heart and miss the countryside badly. I'm sad at the moment because I could only spend a week with my family in the countryside where our roots are, and this was certainly not enough. I long for nature!

What you say about Internet friends is so true - sometimes we don't feel too much like blogging, but hey, our friends are there and waiting for news.

I feel so close to your way of feeling. Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and writing lovely comments - they mean a lot to me!
A beautiful day to you!

The apron is coming on beautifully, Maggie Ann - don't give up on it! Have you tried Thread Heaven to make your thread smoother? If you can't find that, I think wetting your thread before using it might help....racking my brains here, I know of several techniques, but of course when I come to tell someone, my mind goes blank! And by the way - thank you for your nice remarks about my vintage linen photos! Love to read your comments on my blog too :-)
