This is the Frontispiece that precedes the novel,"Via Crucis". It is titled' Beatrix and Gilbert'. It looks like the artist's name is Louis Loeb. I love old-fashioned things. If I'm boring you silly, begone with you my friend, come again another time or I will miss you. Here is a sample...Chapter 1. "The sun was setting on the fifth day of May, in the year of our Lord's grace eleven hundred and forty-five. In the little garden between the outer wall of the manor and the moat of Stoke Regis Manor, a lady slowly walked along the narrow path between high rose bushes trained upon the masonry, and a low flower bed, divided into many little squares, planted alternately with flowers and sweet herbs on one side, and bordered with budding violets on the other." I just wanted to share the poetry of this writer a bit. When you read one these books, its just like a classic, you hang in there and are transported in time back to be with Beatrice and Gilbert. I haven't read all of these yet, and I don't lend them. Truth is, they wouldn't be just everybody's cup of tea. I must get out to the kitchen and wash its face and let it be pretty again instead of messy. My Bach is waiting patiently for me to come practise and it is wonderful to hear the lovely notes resonate from beneath the strings. I like it when I finish playing and the bow stops but the cello still vibrates the tones inside of it. ...Well, I've not been very busy today, just the opposite, but I'm always like that after a whirlwind of company and excitement. Another day of summer sunshine and heat. I'm thankful for the cool evenings and restful nights. And always for my Lord.."Thou art my hiding place and my shield: I hope in thy word." Psalms 119:114......Our former Pastor once said the Psalms are the Bible in miniature. There is a 'balm in Gilead' for every heart that repents and turns to the Lord. My heart is his. Posted by Picasa
