Isn't this a pretty little apron! I just loved it and am going (I think) to make a pattern from it. It was on sale at the local Good Will store for 50 cents. It is handmade and the seams are on the outside, covered with homemade bias tape. I thought to myself how fun it would be if the woman who donated this old-fashioned beauty should see it on my blog. Its a compliment for it to be here, yes indeedy. The rose fabric is very pretty. ( I am drawn to roses like a bee to honey). Its been a good day so far, great devotions, and I have been able to sew on my blouse. The square neckline is in and ready for the top-stitching. I also am just about done on my apron and 'its a wonderful day in the neighborhood....'..feeling.. remember Mr.Fred Roger's song. That wonderful man lifted my spirits many a time. For a while I tryed to collect his recordings but had no success. I do have one album I think.....I've just started the Beverly Lewis series.'Abram's Daughters' and after just a few pages, I'm 'into it'. My daughter left Sunday and we capped off our visit with an episode from the Avonlea series...the one where Sara's father dies and she gets kidnapped by the fortune teller. Now, I'm putting the house to 'rights' again and resting myself, inbetween embroidering and sewing...both luxeries today. My Mary Englebreit desk calendar has a picture of two little boys fishing, one has caught nothing and one has a string of fish in his hand. As the water ripples underneath the dock they are fishing from, is this quote...."Don't let success go to your head or failure go to your heart". Anon. I think theres a good bit of truth in that counsel, don't you? Hope your day is as gentle as mine.....Psalm 118:6.."The LORD is on my side; I will not fear....." Posted by Picasa

I love the apron..it's such a pretty one and looks gently used. It's so much fun to find such a lovely and at a bargain price.
I'm anxious to see your apron..have been considering making one myself. I have several that I have picked up over the years of buying older linens when I see them. Just love the things with the hand done touch. I've embroidered since I was a young bride, and just recently gotten back into it. I especially like cross stitched pieces that are stamped. The counting is quite hard on my eyes in the counted cross stitch kind. I found a neat snowflake pillow kit at Goodwill recently, dated 1983 on the fabric. It's a Paragon and feels quite nice despite it's age. I've never done chicken scratch before and it's a hoot ! Good evening past time, keeps me from snacking my way to bedtime.
So glad you had such a nice visit. I enjoyed the pictures. Hugs,Finn

the Lord has given you such a gift in getting out His message, in a gentle way ... gentle always speaks to my heart and i listen intently ... i too had a wonderful day, then at the end of the day - i was tired and somewhat crabby at my husband (who probably had a great day until i got home!) ... sigh ... my year of learning to bite my tongue isn't over yet - but learning i am ...

sending you big ole hugs ... your sister "in" Jesus, who we both adore!

p.s. i noticed that you have links now to your blog buds ... :)
