Just an old postcard, and isn't she sweet! Our Pastor gave us a message on coping with grief on Sunday. I think these few things are great for just everyday too. What do you think?.....Prepare ahead of time-by worshipping God 'ahead' of sorrow or trouble......Trust God now...Isaiah says, "seek ye the Lord while he may be found"......Find refuge in God....Psalm 46: 1-3..."God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble"......Flee to God, draw strength from him. God is our strength when we have no strength.....Isaiah 40:31..."But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength and mount up with wings as eagles"...When we seek him, he is a present help, now. He is waiting for us to come to him. He is our only hope. Find refuge in God.....Find encouragement in the body of Christ. John 11, Mary and Martha had friends around them. Satan can tear you apart when you are by yourself.... Ec.4:9 Two are better than one, if one fall, the other will lift him up.....Don't retreat into isolation!....Don't let pride keep you from getting the victory.....If someone is going through a grieving time, don't make any major decisions, wait some months....When depressed, ask the Holy Spirit to lift us out of depression......God is always good......Pastor ended his message with this from Jeremiah 29:ll "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, Thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end." Let God help you....( I got Pastor's 'ok' to share this, this message was a blessing to me) verse 12 continues, " Then shall ye call upon me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart" Posted by Hello
