More of my favorite books...they are the dearest of friends! On my cluttered pc table tonight is a Laura Childs tea-shop mystery, a Robert Whitlow novel, and lots of notes I write to myself to remember things. The quietness of the house is soothing, after a busy day, quietness is nurturing isn't it. "I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well." Psalms 139:14 This was one of my Mother's favorite verses I think...I remember her quoting it at times.
She loved to read as much as I do. Sometimes the apple doesn't fall far from the tree..does it? Remember who quoted that in a wonderful movie? I think it was Gilbert Blythe's father to Marilla about Anne. What a gem of a movie/series. Richness.

I will look for this book at the library. Do you still go back and read Gladys Taber books? I do, wish I could go in side of her books and live there sometime. LOL
You are quite right my dear friend .... it was Gilbert's father! You know, if we lived next door to each other, we would have such wonderful fellowship you and I .... we seem to love the same things. My mother too loved to read and one of her favourite series was the Miss Reid books. I grew up in a little "prefab" in a coal mining village in Yorkshire (my dad was a miner) often I would come running home from school and the fire would be on it's last embers, the pots would be in the sink and my lovely mum would be curled up on the sofa in another world. What it did for me was to see the joy and beauty of reading, she would look up and smile at me and say " Oh, is it that time already sweetie?"
