I will praise thee, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works. I will be glad and rejoice in thee...Psalm 9:verses 1 and 2a

I just started reading this Linda Nichols book and she is one of my favorite authors. I'm looking forward to reading this today. Maybe I'll try out the new slingback chaise we got at Big Lots, and hopefully I'll even practice Vivaldi & a bit of Bach on the back porch. The locust songs are music to my ears and the summertime heat feels so tranquil. Sorry I've haven't posted for so long.. I didn't realize how fast time was going. Its wonderful to get outside to weed and enjoy the flowers. My allergies aren't too bad this year at all, so I am able to be outside...well so far anyway! When the goldenrod blooms it may be a different story. Hope you are having a wonderful day, isn't it a gladsome thing to know in your heart that "He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him....Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him." Psalm 103:10,11 & 13. This makes me think of the line that says...'he carries us in his arms all day long' Oh wonderful truth. "for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For whoesoever shall call upon the name of the LORD shall be saved." taken from the 10th chapter of Romans in the Holy Scriptures, the Bible. ~~~I never know who will happen by my blog who may never have heard that God loves them personally, no matter what or who they are...he has forgiveness in his wings, for those who repent and ask. ~~~Here are some of the things I've been thinking about lately..smile. I've got these books from the library and love these felted slippers. Trouble is, time is flying by and I'm still doing swatches to test gauges. This pattern calls for double pointed needles, so I had hubby bring me some dowel rods and I sharpened the ends to points...I'll let you know how that works. I had read somewhere that this is a great way to provide inexpensive knitting needles for children to learn on. I have found I don't have enought of my handspun yarn to complete the stole....yet. So, I probably will knit up a felted purse untill I can spin more. Oh choices, choices...smile. "The summer sun is like a bird....Around the spacious sky it swings, And down float light and shining days....Like golden feathers from its wings." Rebecca McCann

Maggie it is completely permissible to copy patterns from a library book. It is allowed under copywrite law, as "fair use" of such a book borrowed from a library even though you are NOT allowed to copy patterns from books borrowed from a friend.
If I borrow a book from a library (and I do all the time!) and it has a pattern I want to use, I copy it. It saves wear and tear on the library book as I'm knitting, and I don't have to worry about keeping the book signed out for the entire time that I am knitting the pattern. If the book and patterns are fantastic I go ahead and buy it from a store in an effort to support the designers hard work.
Give us a book report when you are finished and have fun knitting.
Summer is for lazy-kick-back-days- reading-a-book-in-an-easy-chair-with-a-glass-of-iced-tea....so it's ok if you miss a day or two or three of blogging..
:)
Looks like a good book there! I love Vivaldi...especially "The Four Seasons", my favorite peice of music. I would so love to hear you play!!
