A shop uptown asked me to make some collages for them and so I did 4 but am toying with the idea of an Etsy shop instead. The uptown shop is delightful but wants 50% of what you get. Bits of paper glued together aren't all that valuable if you know what I mean. Some worth, but....What do you think? My hubby thinks I should keep them all and just enjoy what I do and use them for little gifts. I LOVE rubber stamping with collage...=) Happy Day Wishs to you!

They're gorgeous Maggie Ann, and it's such a nice acknowledgement when somebody wants to buy things you make. I don't know how effective Etsy is, a lot of people I blog with have shop there and I've toyed with the idea myself...if you do it I'd like to read about how you get on.
Try it and see if you like it!
Very pretty collages Maggie Ann. I love the colors. You are so creative. Be sure and let us know what you decide, an etsy shop or keeping them for yourself and gifts.
I think I would choose the etsy shop. No harm in making a little doing something you love. I love the images you use on your pieces. They are such lovely faces. These two are very nice. I've bought one piece of art on etsy and enjoy everyday hanging in my craft room.
I think you could possibly do both, you're terribly crafty :-)
An etsy shop would be fun..that way we can purchase them from you!!!! Hope this finds you well Maggie Ann!
if you love love love the collage - keep it ... but if you only like it, then sell it and maybe it will be someone elses special treasure ...
Oh my, Maggie Anne, these are fab!! I love the swirls on your collage and the image is a beautiful one!!
First of all you send one to me so I can see if they're worth anything. :-) Just kidding.
Really I would suggest that either you do as your dh suggests or since a person only has so much wall space.... figure out how much a collage costs, and how long it takes on the average, to do one.
Figure out how much an hour you want to make, add them together, and then you have your wholesale price. Check first other collages in other stores and see if you would be satisfied with being paid half of what they cost. that would be the best since I know nothing about collaging or how long it takes a professional (you) to do one. If you can make yours sell for a few cents less. I do know that you usally don't get paid for handwork nearly what it's worth. Believe it or not I'm done.

You are so talented with your crafts! I'd make them for fun ... then start selling them when I got a shoebox full. Check around a bit for the going rate for your profit though. They would be cute framed too.
