It snowed last night!

This bit of snowy delight picture is borrowed from Flickr via Pinterest. (A photo taken in Sweden.) Pinterest being one of the loves of my life...ha ha, such fun & tutorial ideas all in one place.

Anyway, our infra-red heater, recently purchased, is a honey of a heater. It was like standing on top of an old fashioned floor register for hours...only it was blowing very cozy warm air across from me while I sat on the couch in near bliss.

So, 'Let it Snow, let it snow...well, maybe thats enough. We do have to get out and about today. And I need/should/want? to get back to reading.

I brought home the most interesting stack of books from the library, and with Christmas busyness & joys....well you know how it is. Skimmed through one, barely glanced at the Gluten Free cookbook and have a cozy feeling about the 'Miss Read....Christmas at Fairacre' though in truth, I have'nt read a bit of it yet. Just seeing it in the stack is comfort stuff it seems.

And for whatever reason, I ordered Glenn Becks new book.... ok here's the reason. I cracked the cover of Glenn's 'Being Geo. Washington' at Sam's Club and it sure seemed interesting, so I ordered it at the library. sigh....of contentment....saved me $10. to boot. And that's important once in a while. I love the interlibrary loan system we enjoy. Very much. Its right up there with 'Pinterest' on my 'Favorite Things' list.

Hope you have a great day, and beauty surrounds you in the great outdoors. And inside too. After all that is what the Lord wants for us, for he created every bit of beauty we see.

'All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made.' St.John 1:3.~~ Doesn't that go hand in hand with Genesis 1:1 though~~ 'In the beginning God created the heaven and earth' ~~ And, aren't they beautiful!!!

Bye for now....and here is the definition of bye...perhaps....and one of the contributers of 'Yahoo Answers' is Bobby Clobber...don't you love that! Ha ha. He says he is very educated & studys law so gets right to the point. Anyway...bye for now.

WORD HISTORY : No doubt more than one reader has wondered exactly how goodbye is derived from the phrase “God be with you.” To understand this, it is helpful to see earlier forms of the expression, such as God be wy you, god b'w'y, godbwye, god buy' ye, and good-b'wy. The first word of the expression is now good and not God, for good replaced God by analogy with such expressions as good day, perhaps after people no longer had a clear idea of the original sense of the expression.
A letter of 1573 written by Gabriel Harvey contains the first recorded use of goodbye: “To requite your gallonde [gallon] of godbwyes, I regive you a pottle of howdyes,” recalling another contraction that is still used.

Isn't that a gorgeous snowy photo you found! I'd love to walk down that tree-lined lane.

I'm with you on gauge and knitting! I'll have to admit that the two sweaters I made for Christmas were made on a size 2 pattern but turned out to be about a 3-4, because I wasn't going to go out and buy more sets of Addi Turbo needles. They're SO expensive, yet I love, LOVE knitting on them. So I used what I have. Have a wonderful day!

Can you believe that I read MANY of the Miss Read books to mama?? We LOVED them! Something about the illustrations on the cover originally attracted me to them. Hope you enjoy as much as we did!

I'm with you about cleaning a big house! Just think of the miles of base boards to collect dust in that big old mansion! Enjoy your day.

What a beautiful pinterest photo of a snow scene. I may just pin in on mine! :-) I know what you mean about the comfort of going to the library or a stack of library books ...something about it even if they don't all get read.

I like the snowflakes on your blog! As far as how you only see one post, it must be how it is linked to your reader. If you just go to http://podso.blogspot.com you should see all the posts that are there. And as far as the large photos, several years ago I went to that mode. It was difficult to do, but then blogger let you do it. I'm not sure I can explain it anymore, but for a background you must do the stretch minima or something like that. And then with the post option of the photo go to extra large. I often think of going back to the smaller photos but am afraid to mess with things too much! Happy New Year Maggie!

Well that is a beautiful photo and like you I love Pinterest also!!! Love pinning things on a daily basis! The movie with Charlton Heston with the Statue of Liberty was the original Planet of the Apes from the 70s. I love going to the library as well. Love being able to save money on books! Which is one of my other favorite things to do...read! Enjoy your day and the snow!

Loved learning about the connection between "goodbye" and "god be with you"! Very interesting! I have to thank you for a very sweet comment on my post about blessings! Thank you so much, Maggie Ann. I appreciated the scripture, too, so much.

I am going to try to read more this year...start painting again, work on Ancestry.com, and get back into quilting big-time...well, the list goes on and on! :-) I LOVE books too, though and my "need to read" stack is growing as well.
